Bram Weijgers

Originally, from the Netherlands, he studied Food Biotechnology and Plant Biotechnology at Wageningen University & Research. Here he developed an interest in the protein transition and sustainable protein foods.

When the cellular agriculture department was created he joined to do his master thesis there, introducing him to the world of cultivated meat. Motivated to continue working in this field he found an internship at CAS, which led to him becoming the newest member of the team.

Bram's responsibilities at CAS include the set-up and daily maintenance of bioreactors both small and large scale as well as assisting in media preparation and quality tasks.

In his free time he loves to cook and bake (local vlaai) intensively. Besides his culinary exploits he also enjoys to walk or run in the forest or countryside near his home
